I do not eat meat in any form now, but I do remember that in the UK there were to types of sausage, pork and beef, pork is from the pig and beef is from the cow and they did taste different, but there was a choice.
We don't just have pork or beef sausages, if you look you will also see things like venison sausages. The beef sausages don't usually have herbs and stuff added, however, pork sausages can be just plain ol pork orrrrrrrrrrrrrr they can be pork and apple, cumberland, lincolnshire etc etc etc and yes of course beef sausages taste different to pork. That's like comparing a roast beef and a roast pork...totally different animals and therefore a different change of taste.
Venison is deer meat which should be more expensive? but I am sure that anyone who buys it will not need anything added to it, pork is the cheapest form of meat around and I did read at one time they enjoy humans as a main course and they will eat anything given to them, other animals do have their limits as to what they eat. We must not forget that black puddings are made out of pigs blood.
Yes, it has been known for certain pig farmers to feed them humans (this is only a mafia thing), the only thing they don't digest are the nails and teeth....everything else is fair game. You also need to starve said pigs for a while before they will consume a human and not in one piece. So there is still some butchery to be done, I wouldn't hold the pigs responsible, this is down to the mafia.
Next, what animals eat? I'm guessing you've not been around farms much have you, you know the real farms that are completely above board, well I've been to quite a few and trust me, they get fed what they are supposed to be fed...not just any crap. Pigs love truffles and apples. Its like people think pigs are dirty but in fact they are one of the cleanest animals on the planet, its humans that make them walk around in mud all day.

I do not have any knowledge about farming, but what I have seen in the past was free range hens and cows out in the fields until they were taken in for milking and pigs were kept in styes , things of the past, now they are all part of a production line , hens first give eggs and the killed for their meat when the eggs stop, cows give milk and then killed for their meat, what do pigs give ? nothing until they are killed for their carcass when I think all parts of the body are used for human consumption?so I do not think that pigs can be part of a production line, so must be left in a pen which may be difficult to keep clean after they have been eating truffles all day.
