What Kind Of Footprint

I ment to post this a while back.
I went for a quad ride and always take tackle and a fishing rod with me. I stopped to throw a line in on one of the lakes I was passing along the way.
I came across this rock on the shore. No can tell me this is not a actual foot print, but of what? It has to be very old even ancient.
It’s just odd because this is Cold Northern Canada . The most people find around here is the odd ancient Aboriginal tool.
Anyways I thought I would put this out there for our members to see.

It's a footprint of Trudeau's ancestors.


It doesn't look like a footprint to me, but then again I'm not a geologist or a paleontologist , but I do play one on TV. It could be just pareidolia messing with your mind ?
Canada was once a sub tropical area, I know they have found footprints in Alaska, here is one down below that looks similar to the one you found, maybe the one you found is a handprint ???

Looks like it's giving us the finger and I am highly offended.

If you documented the exact location with your iphone, you can return with a measuring tool and photograph it showing the dimensions. Then you could contact one of the Canadian paleontology museums or related university departments to inquire.

Gonna go with Megacerops print, mostly because I always wanted to use the word in a sentence.

I know exactly where is. I might just do the measurement thing as you suggested and take you advise about contact someone down south.

Do you know what kind of rock houses the print? I can't tell much from the photo, although the surrounding rocks suggest shale. If you take a series of photos illustrating the immediate site, it will provide good clues to the fossil's age and the maker's identity.

I wouldn't mind finding something like that, I'd be hunting down some of that rubbery stuff that you mixed and it cures in a fairly fast time and make a perfect cast. Then you could have it as a decoration for the house without damaging the print and might give you a better idea of what made it.
"Liquid rubber casting", there's a variety of products, find one that won't do any damage.
