Just watched All the President's Men.

was pretty fun. Got me thinking who's gonna play Alexander Acosta in the Epstein movie that's for sure gonna come out in 10-15 years.

The writer of the script was a hack, using the "keep calm and carry on" rubbish, it's classed as a comedy......I've seen more comedy in a potato growing. NOT a film to waste your time on and how it got a 6.4 I am unsure because it really isn't worth that, when I have seen better films with a lower rating.

Just watched War Machine last night, it was ok, worth a watch though.
Yeah watched it too. Story is a little weak as always on those no brainer Netflix type of action movies but its ok for killing some time

Forrest Gump
I'm not really for one to watch fairly slow films, I'm not really a drama type droid. Adrenalin junky, comedy, horror and psychological films. I couldn't deal with the accent he used, some just grate on you and his did.

Faust 1926. Absolutely stunning for a hundred year old film. Recently acquired a really good copy and that made it all the better. The original copy I watched was an American version and it was also less than 720p. Rewatched it at 1080p 15Mbps and it was just a stunning watch. I dunno if anyone else has seen it, but there's a scene in the movie that feels almost exactly like Prince Ali scene from Aladdin lol
Not only does he fly on a cape (of his demon Mephisto) but he goes to impress and seduce a princess with his demon along side him. He comes to her with the belly dancers, elephants, the almost exact same outfit as Aladdin (or, well, I guess Aladdin would be the one copying this film) and so on. It was interesting to say the least.

I'm surprised you enjoy psychological films, aren't they usually slow paced? Kind of a slow crawl to the edge of insanity (and sometimes off it)? I enjoyed Forrest Gump, but I can see how it isn't for everyone. (The accent issue is definitely a valid take).

Not always slow paced, however, with psychological thriller films, if they are too slow a burn, I will lose interest very quickly unless the psychology is playing out from the beginning. Film makers play with viewers brains and its all about something needs to grab your attention within the first 10 minutes. That doesn't bother me as much as the acting or the storyline, I am a qualified counsellor and psychologist so those types of films always interest me.

Recently watched Interstellar, John Wick, and Fight Club and now I’m stuck trying to find something that hits the same level 😭

Good picks! Here are a few that I think come closest. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen them yet. Finding similar films is toughest for Fight Club, but here's my best shot:

Interstellar: Contact (1997), Sunshine (2007), Moon (2009), Gravity (2013), The Martian (2015), Passengers (2016), Arrival (2016), Ad Astra (2019)
John Wick: The Killer (1989), Hard Boiled (1992), The Raid (2011), The Equalizer (2014), Atomic Blonde (2017), Extraction (2020), Nobody (2021), Bullet Train (2022), Sisu (2022), Extraction 2 (2023), Ballerina (2025), Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025)
Fight Club: Well, you're not supposed to talk about Fight Club! 😄 But if you must: 12 Monkeys (1995), The Game (1997), Memento (2000), American Psycho (2000), The Machinist (2004), Black Swan (2010), Shutter Island (2010)

Mortal Kombat II: This is Mortal Kombat through and through, closer to the spirit of the games than anything before it!

beast 2026

i watched it before i looked in to it, not a bad film not in to mma type movie/films , usally , but the story was good that brought him back to fight one last time .

I've been on a kick of watching old horror and thriller movies, most recently I watched The Butterfly Effect (director's cut) and really enjoyed it!

fuze

Code:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt31189814/

info..
An unexploded WWII bomb is discovered on a busy construction site in the centre of London. Chaos ensues as the military and police begin a mass evacuation against a ticking clock

anyone else watched fuze , was a good one to watch ,

In The Grey (2026)

It was enough to pass in the background. For a 90-ish minute movie, they could have tacked on some exposition before all the chases and shootouts. I was slightly surprised Rosamund Pike was in it. Her movie choices tend to be better.

Thought I would get Hoppers by disney and pixar, so that mini me droid could watch it (that didn't last long lol)........why can't cartoons/animated films just be that.....instead of heavily dowsing it in messages about the environmental and the climate ffs...it spoils the fun of the films. I think my time watching disney has come to an end. Pixar will be next if they keep doing the same. Leave children to be children, stop forcing world issues on them when they are only young. Great way to create guilt....that they're not doing more or depression caused by worlds issues dumped on their shoulders at a young age.....LET THEM BE CHILDREN!
