Aliens Can Track Down Humans, Said A Former Astronaut
Due to changes in Earth?s atmosphere, aliens may find us. This is claimed by John Grunsfeld, a former astronaut at the Astrobiology Science Conference in Chicago.
He assumed ?We put atmospheric signatures that guarantee someone with a large telescope 20 light years away could detect us. If there is life out there, intelligent life, they?ll know we?re here.?
No longer an astronaut, currently, Grunsfeld works as associate administrator for Nasa?s Science Mission Directorate.
Also in April, Ellen Stofan, Nasa?s senior scientist said that we could find evidences of aliens in 20 to 30 years. He affirmed ?We are not talking about little green men; we are talking about little microbes.?
Jim Green, executive of planetary science at Nasa, noticed that a recent investigation of the Martian climate discovered 50 percent of the planet's northern hemisphere once had seas a mile deep. The same study show that water had been available on the red planet for up to 1,2 billion years.
Grunsfeld said at the time he was amped up for seeing what structure life beyond Earth may take. He said ?Once we get beyond Mars, which formed from the same stuff as Earth, the likelihood that life is similar to what we find on this planet is very low. I think we're one generation away in our solar system, whether it's on an icy moon or on Mars, and one generation [away] on a planet around a nearby star.?
Researchers has been using Hubble to find evidences that Jupiter's moon Ganymede has a saltwater, sub-surface sea, likely sandwiched between two layers of ice. Jupiter's moon Europa and Saturn's satellite Enceladus are likewise thought to have a sea of fluid water underneath their surface in contact with mineral-rich rock. This, as indicated by Nasa, implies they may have the three ingredients required for life as we know it.
