After Nigeria was eliminated from the world cup the Nigerian captain personally offered to refund all the expenses of fans that traveled to Brazil.

He said he just needs their bank details and pin numbers to complete the transaction.

Good to know that they also do this to each other, I thought they only scammed the rest of the world.

Speaking of this, this past Spring, while I was working at Data Recognition Corporation I happened to strike up a conversation with a man from Liberia. We exchanged emails when he said he had to go back to Liberia due to a family emergency. After he left, we continued to correspond via email and I learned that his mother was sick and in the hospital. I told him I would keep him and his mother in my Buddhist prayers. He expressed an interest in learning more about Buddhism and was going to come to my place when he returned.

About a week later, I got an email from him explaining how his mother had died and he was left with the hospital bill and needed money for the funeral. Long story short - he asked me for $3500 and promised to repay me when he got back to the U.S. Needless to say I had a good laugh and told him to address his problem as if he had never met me. I never heard from him again.
