I second this sentiment. I barely watch movies anymore, most of them are contrived and recycled, or 2 hours of CGI with some random dialogue between the explosions.

I would judge a good movie as one which I would like to watch over and over again (Jaws, Aliens, for example). Looking back at the movies I watched in 2025, none of them fit this category!

I don't think it that movies get worse, its just that only the good stuff get remembered. There are just a lot of lousy movies from every era that you sort of forget about as soon as you leave the theater.
