Which File Host(s) do you prefer?

I know, there has already been a thread on File Hosts, but as far as I remember, never a poll to decide the preferred Host for use by free downloaders.

Such info would be of value to uploaders in choosing where to host their files. Also to downloaders faced with a choice of hosts to download from.

In casting your vote, please judge as a free downloader, not as uploader or account holder.

I have allowed vote for up to 2 options. Please only use this in case of joint best, equally good hosts, between which you can't decide. Otherwise just cast single vote for the best.

If your preferred host isn't in the list, just name it in your post and it will be taken into account.

All but Putlocker & Billionuploads give be about 64kbs for a free download, that is if they do not pause the download as well.

None of the above:- Zippyshare, Mediafire, Gamefront & 180 Uploads are my preferred filehosting sites.

I am using sockshare right now to DL "The Colony" and am getting 1.3 megs per sec - also like the free speeds of 180upload and bitshare.

I like Billionuploads and 180 Uploads for their speeds. Not had enough downloads at the same time to really push their limits.

I gave netload and filefactory my tick of approval, and I also like bitshare, as a free user for me at least files d/load at a reasonable speed.

It seems that some popular hosts have been left out of the main list. This is due to the fact that the board only allows up to 10 options, while the hosts are far more.

However, as stated in the OP, votes are still counted for hosts off the list, so just make a post mentioning them.

And if an admin is reading this, he may consider increasing the number of poll options to e.g. 15 for the future.

Putlocker every time for me, as a free downloader I get 2 MB's - multi downloads at once and no download limits.. Thats better than what I got as a Premium on RS back in the day.

I just noticed that Billionuploads which used to be good has now changed.
You now have pop-ups & pop-unders.

Most, if not all, hosts have them for free downloaders, plus nagging for premium accounts. But you can easily block or cancel these, they’re a small price to pay and the hosts make some income from them to stay in business.

More sinister are some opt-out attempts to make you use their special downloaders which contain nasty additives. So you have to be careful to untick their default use.

However, more important in my opinion are speed, the various limitations and in some cases the (in)feasibility of captchas. Also policy for deleting files.

I haven't got a problem with some nagscreens or pop unders as a rule.
But the one on Billion Upload has all that crud even if you use No Script or Adblock Plus.

Downloading off Filefactory right now at 160Kbps which gets my seal of approval for free users. Little wait time, but no captia's to deal with which means, let her rip all night just load of the queue in JDownloader.

Putlocker is a joint leader right now. It must be good and I wonder why it's not used more, eg instead of the useless Rapidgator.

180Upload also seems good, though not in the list, which only allows 10 options.

That's easy to explain. Rapidgator pays for each upload and putlocker does not?

It is not clear this point on their FAQ,
anyway i think it is not on file size but on download per day, not sure but for the moment seems to be unlimited.
