What is your best downloading software?

Honestly, I've used JDownloader for quite a long time, but right now I'm trying out IDM since it's the recommendation. JD tends to be the best, but i swear it's a memory hog.

I've used both but always end up going back to JDownloader2

I've done okay with Free Download Manager. I know it's basic, but it's all I need.

I've used IDM for decades and just over a year ago switched to jDownloader2 and I just cannot go back to IDM. JD2 is just miles ahead of IDM. Give it try.

I mean jdownloader is the go to for simple stuff..

jDownloader is great all round, but it doesn't support cloudflare type proxying, and i tend to use it more for filehosters. i use aria2 for regular downloads quite a bit. i tried out surge downloader, but if one uses it with links that expire, there's no way to resume, unlike aria2 or jdownloader where you can update the URL of a download (at least, that i've found yet).
