Radio personality Tom Joyner has offered Rachel Jeantel, the friend of Trayvon Martin who spoke to him shortly before he died, a full scholarship to any Historically Black College or University she chooses.

, confirmed the news. Jeantel spoke to Joyner on his radio show Tuesday morning.

He said to her: "If you want to graduate from high school, and go to an HBCU, even if it’s not in Florida but especially Florida,like Florida Memorial, Edward Waters or FAMU, if you want to do that, I want to help you do that. I will help you get tutors to get you out of high school, tutors to help you pass the SAT and I will give you a full ride scholarship to any HBCU you’d like."

Joyner said he was moved by Jeantel's testimony. The funding for the scholarship will come from the Tom Joyner Foundation.

Jeantel reluctantly took the stand to testify for the prosecution in the second-degree murder trial of George Zimmerman. She told the courtroom that she heard Martin say "get off, get off" before the call cut out and Zimmerman shot him. During her testimony, which spanned two days, she was mocked online by people insulting her dress, mannerisms, and intelligence.

Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges on Saturday.

Not to change the subject here but I never did understand this case.

I got the guy shot the guy to death
I get this happens like everyday across the world and it don't go viral too so what on earth made this case so special can anyone tell me?

An African American gets shot by a member of the Hispanic community.
Clearly there is a race issue here according to most African Americans.
And if I had a differing opinion to this then I would be branded a racist as well.

Has political correctness gone too far?
Is this really a racial attack on an 'innocent' party?

It's only publicly considered racism if a white guy does something to a not white guy. I'm not saying that's HOW racism works, just that's what is the general public opinion.

If you had a hatred for all people who weren't YOU (instead of LIKE you,) could that be called racism? Interesting idea.

I'm an Australian and if you want to come to my country then you should become an Australian.
Learn the language.
Learn the culture.
Leave your crap where you came from.
Become an Aussie.

Otherwise frack off back where you came from.

I don't understand how anyone can say I am a white American or black American.
You are either an American or you are not.
The colour of your skin makes no dif to me.

I will admit though that I HATE Indian call centres.

Personally what the Aborigines thought about the British arriving here is of no consequence to me or the world right now.
It is past. As is the white and black problem in the USA.
It should be the past and not forgotten but not dragged out as an excuse.
It belittles the struggle that happened.

But there is always someone in every community that will not leave well enough alone and let things go into the past where it belongs.
A Hispanic didn't shoot a Black man.
An American shot a fellow American. And that is not unusual. They seem to do it all the time.
