Making math teachers know basic math is racist, according to Ontario Court

An Ontario Divisional Court has ruled that forcing Ontario teachers to pass a Grade 9 multiple choice math test is unconstitutional and racially biased. This is a prime example of judicial activism (judges acting like politicians) and the woke ideology seeping into every aspect of our lives.

Alas, actually true. Will almost certainly be set aside by a higher court, anally retentive nonsense that it is...

And the world wonders why the youth seem lost and confused about life. Higher education is just simply not a path for every single human. Teach the subjects that will head them off into society with the understanding that some will grasp it all easily, some will grasp it by bearing down and reviewing, some will have to study relentlessly just to become familiar with it and then some just simply will not get it no matter what the subject matter. People who can excel at languages, history, the sciences or any other subject may simply not get a handle on math and vice versa. Those that find it difficult or impossible no matter what is being discussed have examples in life that understood these shortcomings and challenges to go on and take on the world by storm. Albert Einstein was considered a poor student in his youth, Walt Disney dropped out of high school so he could join the military only to be turned away for being too young and Thomas Edison was told he was too stupid to learn anything.
Intelligence cannot be legislated or administered by the courts because of perceived racial shortcomings and doing so are the most racist examples one can even point to.

I think that children should be first taught how to live and know the values of life, then as they grow older they can see the differences and choose what they think will be suitable for them helped by others who have the knowledge. Today children are given so many subjects that it confuses them, math's is subject, but how many people need it to live, simple arithmetic yes as they are used in daily living. I did read a few weeks ago that the Parliament building in London needed £20 million restoration, but they have problem, they cannot find any Stone masons to do the stone work.

Education starts from the day you were born and will end the day you will die.

Most people in authority that look after children in some respect have always tried to pump children full of their agenda its gone on for years unchecked...we've had schools here, closed down because they were islamic schools that did not follow the Educational systems curriculum.

I do not teach my students or brainwash them with my ideology or beliefs. Unfortunately I have to teach them and make sure they are learning from the Curriculum which comes from the government.

when I went to school, in the market town where I lived (pop 3500) there were, Church of England, Catholic. Methodist and a Westlian school in the town, there was no mosque. there was an indipendant grammer school.

I notice the word "unfortunately" that means you know what there should be and what there is not, that comes from experience .

Yes, I know my students should be taught different things in different ways. But we have to follow the rules of the government or do as we are told.

I think that if a child is very interested in a subject, they will find a way to gain more information and knowledge for their own benefit and pleasure, there is a very big differnce between being clever and being intelegent .

Students come to school unengaged, hungry, tired etc. It is up to use teachers to get them engaged and willing to learn. The responsibility falls on us.

there is an old saying that "you can take a horse to the water but you cannot make it drink" it is not the teacher it is the system, the teacher and the parents and children work as individuals, if the children cannot see the future why should they want to go there. what I notice is that every one or nearly every one carries a smart phone and how and for what do they use it, every one is living in a dream world, reality is some thing that they are afraid of because they are not interested unless it affects them and then they are ready to blame others for their own inability to solve it.

No matter what you do or how hard you try a horse will only drink good water. The horse will die of dehydration before it will drink bad water. They are programmed that way. Teachers and student are programmed the same way. Children are programmed in their upbringing and how they are taught.

Children maybe like the horse, they do not like the programs, the problem maybe the person who writes the program??:):):)
