A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same as another word but differs in meaning, and may differ in spelling. The words may be spelled the same, such as rose (flower) and rose (past tense of "rise"), or differently, such as carat, caret, and carrot, or to, two, and too.

So there are some examples of homophones.

The only rule for this game is you can't use the same homophone the poster above you used. Please try to make sure the words you use are REAL words and not made-up words.

I'll start with:

P.S. This game may tend to discriminate against non native English speakers. E.g. I wouldn't have thought carat and carrot are pronounced identically.

And metaphorical use, e.g. He's a pussy.
