Awen is a Welsh, Cornish and Breton word for "inspiration" (and typically poetic inspiration). In Welsh mythology, awen is the inspiration of the poets, or bards; or, in its personification, Awen is the inspirational muse of creative artists in general.

What is the power of Awen?

Awen is the spark of life, creativity, wisdom, the living principle. Said to be the name by which the universe calls God inwardly. Awen is the breath of the God Dagda, who bestows this gift of power and knowledge to the Chief Bard of the Druids.

Was Merlin a Druid?

Most likely. Merlin is based on a historical personage, probably a 5th and/or 6th-century Druid living in southern Scotland.

What was Merlin's Druid name?

Emrys. Mordred as a young boy keeps calling Merlin "Emrys", which is actually Merlin's name as a Celtic Druid and sorcerer. In Welsh Merlin's full real name is actually Myrddin Wynn Emrys. Myrddin is his first name, Wynn is his family name and Emrys is his Druid name.
