Speed test today.....

My download speed is supposed to be around 150Mbps...something seriously wrong with the network and its not just me so....it's definitely them

I would call them up maybe, for a 150Mbps service those speeds are shockingly bad, and your latency is sky high :/

That's a bit better...still not getting my full speed and I did one just before this one and it was 125mbps

I'd say the 2Mbps felt like old dial up internet

Oh I've been on dial up before.....nightmare and yes 2Mb was a complete and utter nightmare especially when trying to do things on the net like the site lol

Our ISP uses the same Speed Test people. You get bored you can try it and see if there's any difference. *I'll be junking my current ISP because them and another company merged and are going to eventually get around to screwing around with our LONGTIME email accounts, renaming things to reflect the merger (takeover)

(down at the moment, OOKLA has been having some problems with their testing speeds lately, down again now.)

I went through the early days nonsense, early 14.4 connection I had to break the connection to phone my buddies to brag about the very first file I managed to download that was a whole 1MB!!!!!!!

"In early 1993, the fastest available modem was capable of transferring data at a MAXIMUM speed of 14.4 kilobytes per second (kbps), equivalent to 864kb per minute, or 51.84Mb per hour. The launch of the 28.8k modem in 1994 doubled this theoretical maximum."
*After the 2.4, 4.8 and 9.6 bps days the 14.4 was a monstrous jump. And won't mention the good old BBS Days.

Here these so-called Mergers are taking away your options for an ISP. the Fibre X (Telus) is determined to grab Rogers/Shaw customers which is actually working out for prices SO FAR. (always ends up a catch down the road)
So Telus will payout your 2 year contract if you're locked into one with Rogers/Shaw and their prices for the 3Gige Fibre are cheaper BUT, you notice little numbers beside PLAN DETAILS below. You almost have to be a lawyer with all the manipulation they can do when it comes to those harmless looking little "Details" ($115/mo SOUNDS CHEAP, you have to actually READ what you're getting in to) but, I am switching to Fibre.

I'm not in the US...so those mean bugger all to me....we have BT, Virgin (on the ridiculous), talktalk, the one I'm on, most of the mobile phone companies offer their own etc etc....I pay £35 a month for my internet..no home phone, I use my mobile as my home phone
