NavyRet will love this...

Its still a "Work In Progress" so its mostly free (but you don't have to pay unless you want the tech faster) BUT there is no waiting to play...

Its WORLD OF WAR SHIPS....

I started off with a teeny little destroyer.... but now, I have a bad ass Battle Ship... The U.S.S. Wyoming

This ship has two turrets in front (4 barrels) but aanother 4 turrets in the back... I'm getting good at controlling this ship, even if its top speed is a tad over 20 knots, and little destroyers are my nightmare.... but y'know what.... side on, all twelve barrels.... destroyers are doggy do with one broadside....

If you want to play.... select the download from the EU server.... and we can all play together (kiwi1960 in game)

BUT A WARNING..... its about a twelve gig download.... the game downloads the main game and patches....

Next ship for me.... a sedate U.S.S. Langley.... (the first aircraft carrier in the USN) ... fighting a war from a distance using bi-planes...

What are the required specs?

Dual core can play it.... my quad core handles it easy and the 4 cores are not even maxing out... hell, not even 50% ...

the specs are on their web page.... google "WoWS" I'm in NZ and play on the EU server as I hate Aussies and Asians... they cheat big time...

no problems with internet speed and only a few times suffer lag...

I stopped playing since I was a kitten and I don't want to start again, in case I get addicted. I already wast enough time watching TV shows, but at least I can give them up anytime...or so I think.

And I'm lucky in this way, because my old machine wouldn't support any games of any sophistication.

I tried "World of Tanks" as well... did not like it...

Will try World of Warplanes next...

I'll try anything once. (but warships has me hooked for sure.)

Update... I bought the langley (using points I earned in sinking enemy ships) and I hated it big time! Its the last Aircraft Carrier I will get...

Some players don't look where they are going... little destroyers run right into me and then try to do it again.... and again.... so... I blasted the crap out of him with four close ranger shots...

Sadly... I got "fined" for that... stupid thing is, if they run into me, *I* get fined as well... they don't understand that its not easy stopping a Battleship or even turning it...

Top speed is 20.7 knots..... a destroyer 30 knots and can turn instantly...
