Rapidgator should be banned!

For some time now, Rapidgator has been one of the most popular hosts. The only possible reason I can think of is that it pays uploadesr more than other hosts, because it sucks big time for free users.

At 50kbps download speed for free users it was already one of the slowest, if not the absolute slowest. Now it has reduced that to 30kbps, even less at times. I’m currently downloading episodes of a TV series at 1GB each and it takes a full day for an episode, if you start early in the morning that is. Plus, if anything happens such as a glitch or unexplainable and unnoticeable something else, it just stops and won’t resume, but will make you wait over 2 hours for restarting from scratch. To top it all up, it can’t be beaten by proxies.

Grrr!

Now if that isn’t sucking, I don’t know what is.

Why not buy a subscription to one of the French Debriders? I have subscriptions to both of the main ones and always get premium speeds of 3-4 Mb/s on RG and most other popular hosts. It's cheaper than buying one premium membership and you get premium membership speeds on many, many hosts. I've been using them for over 2 years and have been quite satisfied. PM me for details.

Which is 99% of the time I can find HDTV programs on another file host, same file as on rapidgator.

whats a "French Debrider"? Can you just post the info? I am curious now. An online buddy gave me 3 free months of uploaded premium and I am loving it.. I might consider just paying for it when it runs out.. no more crummy 50k speeds from many filehosts. 30k is slowest I have heard of though. - I have heard of those sites that promise fast speeds on many filehosts but I also have heard there can be problems because filehosts don't like those sites because it costs them money.. honestly I don't know why filehosts don't just limit premium accounts to one I.P. address... because if a premium account is using more then one.. something fishy is going on...

The two that I use are Real-Debrid and AllDebrid. The average cost is 16 Euro for 6 months (about $21 at current exchange rates). I copy the posted links onto their download page and they immediately give me a premium link that I download using Internet Download Manager. I consistently get speeds of 3.75 to 4.5 Mb/s on any of 80 to 90 file hosts. There are times when one or the other has a problem with any given host, but then I just use the other one. I've never had them both have the same host unavailable at the same time. The web sites are:

Depending on how you pay for it, you may need to use one of their resellers that accept paypal or a specific credit card. Paypal has banned all debriders so if you want to use paypal, you'll need to find a reseller. Resellers send you a code that you enter on the debrider's web site to activate your account. You'll need a free account before you do this so there is an account to credit with the information. The place to enter the code varies, but is usually on the "premium" or "offers" page. An extra benefit is they also offer torrent service where they download the torrent (so your IP isn't exposed) and then upload the file to a file host for you to download. I have gotten many files this way.

As far as I'm concerned, $40 every six month is a very small price to pay for access to premium links and fast downloads for every file I want (and I want a LOT of files - I have about 9 Terra-bytes of files now).

I know i'm gonna get hated for this but , I think they are all pretty much the same, although I do now pay for a premium RG account, tonight it took 40 seconds to download the latest episode of the Blacklist, the cost of RG is a fraction of the cost of SKY TV, and I can, and I generally do download about 25 hours worth of TV every week, plus music and films plus loads of other stuff.

If I was downloading the odd one or two shows then I could see your point and would use torrents (which are out there, just not so safe), but if your downloading tons of stuff then get a premium account, its so worth it

Even if you decide to buy premium account(s), NavyRet's approach is much more economically and widely effective.

In this respect, it would be useful to know which of he two alternatives is cheaper/better, since paying for both seems to a large extent redundant.

They are pretty much equal in cost and up/down-time. I buy both because, while they do have down time, they are never down at the same time. The only advantage one has over the other is that RapidGator is up on Alldebrid more than on Realdebrid.

You also have to factor in differnet time zones & office hours as well, Katz.
Sometimes you end up downloading at a reasonable speed then suddenly without warning the bandwidth 'bottlenecks' and slows down to less than half the speed as a direct result.
I agree with your sentiments about Rapidgator, Uploaded is the same.
Find alternative hosters if you can like Firedrive (Putlocker), Zippyshare, Multiupload.
These offer good speeds even though they all have nag screens so make sure you have Noscript or AdBlock Plus or similar browser plugins installed before using these sites.

As for multihosters like AllDebrid I was actually going to buy an account until I upgraded my network speed and only search for decent hosts.
An example was The Secret Life of Walter Mitty YIFY 866MB .MP4 file through Firedrive took me 5 minutes to download (less time than it took me to finish the first paragraph above :lol: )

in forum they offered free premium host links, and like as noted above the speed wasn't anything someone should have to pay for. i try to use idm and fdm, they do the job , it takes a while but who am i to argue. i also have frostbite for torrents. i'm such a lush sorry

I use Premiumize and have never had a problem with downloading from any host site and you also get a torrent downloader as well for those who like to use torrents and a usenet account as well. Try beating that.

Personally I think all pay to play host should be banned. That's not what wares is about. Yes, I do have links on posts for a pay to play host, but I also offer a completely free alternative.

As for my self, I download all my TV shows from torrents. It only takes like 10 min. per show, sometimes less.

Not just you I had a similar thing happen to me ages ago, RG keeps changing things around me thinks.

It's a filehost that is popular with forum flooders & spammers along with UL filehost, if I had my way I'd ban/disallow single filehost posts. unfortunately I cannot make that call on my own. In the meantime we just have to leave things be as they are.

My OP was a kind of letting off steam or ranting, with the actual suggestion to ban this host only being semi-serious, since it's very popular, as Oldone pointed out.

At a download speed of 30 kbps, it's next to useless for big files, such as movies. Even if you have the patience to wait all day or night, chances are something will go wrong with the download that cannot be resumed. So, Niman should consider himself lucky to get one file per day.

If it can't be banned, it may be possible to make a recommendation to uploaders to avoid it, or provide alternative. Not that I expect this to have much effect, as most uploaders nowadays go for the payout, and are not motivated by the noble wish to share. That's lost along with the other moral values of the golden past.

I am not a fan of Rapidgator myself as most the of time the download won't even start, so always have to find alternatives which is frustrating. There are some many other better hosts out there but Rapidgator for some strange reason is the most preferred behind Uploaded.To another host which is rubbish.
