New world speed record set by Hennessey Venom GT racing car

The Lotus-based hypercar Hennessey Venom GT achieves the title of the world's fastest two-seater car after it manages to reach a staggering 435 km/h (270mph).

The record run at the Kennedy Space Center in the US was made over a distance of 4km (2.4 miles).

Fitted with high performance carbon ceramic Brembo brakes, the Venom GT came to a standstill in less than 300m.

But no entry in the Guinness Book of Records is to be made, because only 29 pieces will be produced whereas GBoR requires the existence of a minimum of 30.

Venom GT costs 1,2 Million US Dollars and is powered by a V8-Motor with 1.244 PS. The production of each car requires six months.

no new world record, doesn't count as they don't produce the minimum amount of cars

Even if you do acquire one of these things, where are you going to drive it at such speeds?

And if you can't drive it at high speeds, what's its advantage?

True. What matters in our society is the impression you create, especially when it comes to women.

And when everybody knows your car is faster, you don't even have to run, in fact you better not, so that they can see who's driving the thing.
