New to MacOS - Recommended Software/Apps?

Just got a Macbook Air for very lightweight browsing (eg. youtube) and creative endeavors (eg. dabbling in music production, word processing). Thanks in advance for any sw/app recommendations for:

1) Basic Setup/security

• antivirus, malware, adblockers, etc?
• VPN

2) Fun

• Music Production
• editing program
• etc

It's been too long since I used a Mac, so the "fun" software I may not be aware of what's best suited for your purposes.

I'm on mac and don't use an av. For adblocking (firefox) i. use ublock origin, ghostery and disconnect.

Firefox is good, I like Brave better for built in ad blocker. NordVPN works for me, AnyVideoConverter works on Mac, has free and paid version, I keep finding new uses for it.
