There is a request for this book so I thought I would look at the site and as I scrolled down, and saw this....

"3. Rebuilding the Biome, Mind, & Body

A way to help your gut you might not know? A dog licking your face."

Code:
https://www.masterclass.com/series/gut-health

Now, I know that having a dog lick your face is NOT good for your gut...pieces of food, traces of poop, after licking their private parts etc that is NOT good for you.....

Oh and I've had dogs on and off since my birth

Any takers?

Almost exactly right there....a well balanced diet is essential, too much sugar and salt is also bad for you but the drinking and the smoking I have to question a little. It has been proven that some red wine in your diet is good for you and its one of the 5 a day (lol) which should be more like 12 a day (the reason I say this is because of the growing techniques to produce food faster has affected its potency of goodness compared to say 30 years ago or so), my grandfather lived to his 90s and he smoked a lot, I do mean a lot. At Christmas we used to get him some King Edwards and he smoked those on TOP of his cigarettes at Christmas. They are actually really nice lol

Yep, I can agree with the exercise being important as long as you don't overdo it and then you have a different problem on your hands. With regard to exercise, you should do small amounts stop for a few minutes and then start again, stop for a few minutes and start again. Helps with metabolism I believe and your heart and lungs, your weight, legs arms whatever exercises you are doing, more so than if you did the exercises straight through :)

Well, I asked my dog and he's willing to do it for a chew toy and some bacon treats....

I eat more veggies than anything, along with a little fruit each week and meat 4 or 5x a month.
I think eating a balanced diet is the key, you get all the essential vitamins and minerals +fiber.
I don't take any supplements or probiotics, so, as far as my health goes it's pretty good.
I think if you have gastronomical issues you can get on the right track by changing your diet, staying away from excess sugar, salt, things like that and by getting exercise (very important), also, no smoking or drinking.
From the context, it appears you are addressing gastrology rather than gastronomy. :bookworm:

I've had dogs almost my entire life and I relish doggie kisses. I'm 76 and very healthy for my age. I don't think allowing my dogs to lick my face has affected my health one way or the other. Aside from trying to take care of yourself, I believe a good preventive attitude, coupled with necessary medical testing such as chest x-rays, colonoscopies, etc., along with a good set of genes from your parents/grandparents will let you live a long and fruitful life (barring accidents or being murdered). I also had a cat that liked to lick my face and head.

The dog licks my head when I've been sweating...its the salty water, all rather weird. He also licks legs especially around my knees (probably picks up on the arthritis, licks my elbows (trapped ulna nerves), if I don't have a shirt on he will lick my lower back (another problem area) and I don't believe in coincidences....

I will give you my experience. I tore a couple of tendons in my knee that took more than a year to bicycle, and put on 45 pounds in a short period of time. and then went type 2 diabetic, had problems with skin in my hands and finally was shown to have fatty liver using an ultrasound.

Diabetes scared me, so I studied hard and cut carbs seriously low getting off medicine. But the ultrasound scared me even more, as fatty liver is number two killer in USA. I had studied carnivore diet through some clinical research doctors who had over 50 years experience and people on it for more than ten years. After fatty liver I took the plunge straight in.

I lost 45 pounds in a few weeks, within two weeks my glucose stabilized to 5.0 an fatty liver cleared as well if you as my skin after a straight year. My doctor was amazed and shocked.

I have no skin in the game, just info for you to see how ketosis is the normal state of the body.
I do not give medical advice, but if you look up Dr. Westman, Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Chaffee and others they are connected to with their links to actual controlled studies and see for your self. Between the Carnivore diet and Lion diet there are so many things that will heal in your body it is amazing.

I am legally not a diabetic now on my medical chart. Also my acid reflux has vanished after years of Prilosec and Nexium.

I just hope someone suffering has some relief like I did that is younger than me. Harvard medical has just published info crediting carnivore diet for amazing healing of gum disease, crone's disease, psoriasis and so much more. the lion diet has cured auto immune disease.
See also Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan on their experience as well.
Best to all and hope this helps on actual real gut health for you as millions across the globe do this with many in the wrestling and sports world..

Personally, I would never recommend an all protein diet to anyone, just as I wouldn't recommend an all carb diet or weight watchers (the meals are just smaller portions of the same thing for non weight watches lol ) I wouldn't recommend becoming a vegan/vegetarian, unless the position you have in life is all you can get. Its like B12...B12 injections are better for a people and animals if it comes from an animal. EPI dogs get fed raw pancreas because its better than the plant based enzymes.
