Bought me a new router so naming the SID the same as my neighbors SID :lotpot:

Leave my old router hooked up with my SID still shows so neighbor don't know which wireless connection is his

Then of course I get a call to go fix because I'm the one who set up his network

NICE!!!

Some stupid no nothing about computers sent me the wrong router but this time to my advantage I got the larger end of the stick

I bought a used Linksys model EA4500 off amazon for $70

I received a Linksys model E4200 worth $300 :lotpot:

Merry Christmas to me :jump2:

Starfleet frowns on shady dealings with resident aliens - yer gonna get sent to a Klingon prison planet for that.

My internet company sent me a "wireless gateway" which I guess is their name for a modem and wireless router all in one unit.

remember... if you screw with your neighbors one day they may screw with you :)

Funny thing.. me and GF moved into apartment but after 3 months decided we wanted a 2 bedroom instead of a 1 bedroom - but landlord had no available 2 bedroom apartments in that building.. but she got us into another building she managed just a block away.. just a block.. but AT&T told us our old router/wireless box (motorola NVG510) would no longer work and so they gave us one that would work (some brand called 2Wire)

no complaints so far.. the 2wire unit is doing its job... the router control panel seems.... ok.. its functional.. I have seen better and worse...

2wire are pretty good
I used to do tech support back in the early 2000 and had to support those routers and configure them over the phone for customers.

Wireless Gateway? Are they like automatic garage doors but for the footpath leading to the home?
