Showing the login & please donate page is a big turnoff to me, you would have done better with a link to the index page.
Every link I try points only to the login page and that sucks

I have to agree with everything said above by people who know about these things.
These are hard times for boards, even established ones, and to succeed as newcomer you need something special and immediately appealing to visitors. And enrich the site with some content that will keep those who register, otherwise they'll disappear.
Bear also in mind that donations don't work, unless you offer something special in return, like privileged status and content they can't easily get elsewhere for free.

Looking at the rules page at the bottom there I see the forum name spookyigloo . which redirects to
According to the internet archive waybackmachine there is 2 entries for spookyigloo in 2014. This is one of them from 18th of may 2014.
If that was or is the now current index page then you need rocks thrown at you for being a cashwhore.

Yes let the owners know to make some changes because not allowing people to see what they are getting into without registering first is a big turn off

Also guests & members should not be able to see or click on the admin acp button. If I or others had evil intentions we could crack the login details....

I can never envisage anyone registering/joining without first viewing the actual forum to see if it's something they want to be part of
