"Hug a sheep": The alternative proposal for those who feel lonely due to a pandemic

A farm in Germany offers those deprived of human contact due to the pandemic and the restrictions imposed an unusual alternative: the opportunity to hug a sheep .
"We have wonderful sheep here that are very popular with visitors," said Lexa Foss, who has organized a training program on the farm near Hattingen in western Germany to encourage people to get closer to the animals.
"I allow people to visit the unaccompanied sheep and have a good time with them in nature, away from masks and social distances," he explained.
Visitors will have to make an appointment, but the hairy sheep are allowed to approach as close as they want. The "sessions" are free , although they are encouraged to make some donations to the farm.
Theresa Pfeffer said she enjoyed her contact with the animals. "At the moment we avoid approaching each other. "We are always at a distance," he said.
"To be honest, I always go past the sheep pastures and they run away. But here it is very different. "It's wonderful," he added.
