We watched it tonight. A most excellent documentary. I wasn't aware there were that many suicides among vets or that the rate was higher among non combatants than those that saw action. As a Corpsman (Medic) I treated my share of Vietnam amputees at the Navy Hospital in Philadelphia (no longer in existence). I also saw (and x-rayed) remains of a pilot who ejected upside down into the runway at MCAS Iwakuni so I also have demons to deal with. I just consider myself extremely lucky to have married a Navy Nurse who experienced much the same as I did in Philadelphia, so we had each other to talk to and help. Without her, I really don't know where I'd be today or if I'd ever be here.

Back to the documentary, it really draws you into, not only the actual journey, but their physical and mental struggles and how they overcome them. It is definitely a film to watch and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.​

I just got through watching it this evening and it's really inspiring.
When they see Cape Horn for the first time, and you see the emotions they roll through, it's quite hard-hitting.
Respect to all service men, and I hope more is done to support their transition to civi life after their service.

@GOrwell i had the same reaction when they saw the cape of Horn. seeing the American flag fly was a chilling feeling.

no veteran should be going through the trauma exposed in this doc. we must demand that our vets be given the best mental and physical care possible.

@NavyRet thank you for your service and dedication to our country and flag. you are a true American hero.

everyone should watch this doc and help vets in need.
