Over the past few weeks download speed from this hoster for free users has dropped from an average 250 kbps to 50 kbps or less. This should no longer be considered a user friendly host in my opinion.

Server problems since late summer, according to some reports.
I use now and then and speeds are ~250KBps - 300KBps never seen them in the kbps range ,250kbps is like a third the speed of RG free which i think was like 100KBps. I just use RG because drop is too slow for larger files and I have debrid.
Drop provides option for large file sizes, resumable downloads, mediocre retention rate and doesn't block adblockers. You could always ask uploaders use clicknupload and that thing has even worse speeds.
Best UFH don't offer revenue to uploaders so they pointless to use. I Upload to Kraken and Bayfiles for user convenience I don't earn income from uploads.
Some uploaders on Mobilism I speak to earn upwards of 3000$ a month from uploads on shittier hosts with adverts and redirects.
You want drop gone provide an alternative that pays. Dailyuploads pays ok but retention is awful. Clicknupload I have no clue but speeds are worse than drop. Racaty Pays awful, retention good, speed intermittent 50 - 1500KBps.
Up load io and upload rar best alternatives but without a proper adblocker its not userfriendly so it doesn't count.
Its unreasonable to require everyone to have Ublock origin even though its the only good adblock and necessary to use browser properly. Not everyone users an adblock.

Drop gives me ave speeds of 250 - 500 consistently. But I do have to turn off my VPN to get those speeds.
Drop consistently gives me 253 - 260 with fly-by-night VPNs turn OFF. I think my personal record with one of the freebie VPNs turned ON is Download ETA 41 or 43 days.
Using the cheap VPNs you probably have piles of people on the same IP at the same time. So I always turn OFF

its a free hoster..take what you get or buy a debrid service.
They were a lot better before the domain change.
I just tested a link and got between 200/300kbps on DL speed but there are times I get less then 100kbps.
Not bad but as downloads are getting bigger as quality is improving, it does take quite a bit longer to a download.
Too bad uploaders are only concerned with how much money they can make and dont really care about the downloaders.
This was started years ago with rapidshare when they started paying.
Once you open the box, it is hard to put it back in.

As this is warez one shouldn't have to buy a service to enjoy the benefits of the shares..

It was even better before it got popular even as a free user. But after that they added a premium service, slapped on ads and slowed speeds, it wasn't what is used to be.. oh what money and greed does to people or companies for that matter
Just did test with 5 part multidownload 2 connections each total download speed 1.69MBps, KAK Slow but 270.4 times faster than OP's 50kbps
now they direct you to a page asking you to sign up no offer of a download

As reported by aussiepoke in our DW Chat Box they are having issues and are working on it.
auswizard, same here, and I did a new register and got redirected back to the reg page, no go here..

I would recommend not registering there for now.
I agree it has gone off, I now get told to register but get no download links anymore
Dropapk has been my go-to but now is dead. Prefer Rapidgator and Clicknupload. Hopefully there are others that will rise to the top!
