Not sure, it's dark outside
Canadian PM has enacted the Emergency Measures Act.
In response to the ongoing freedom convoy protests taking place across Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has invoked the Emergencies Act.

aggresiveness breeds more aggresiveness and it does not solve the problem, people should be given the freedom to choose if they know the advantages and the disadvantages of what they have to choose from.

Canadians by and large hold the right to peaceful protest dear to our hearts. This however was not that. This was an occupation and shutdown of our capitol city. This was a blocking of vital border crossings with the US that played havoc with out economy, and threw people out of work. In typical Canadian fashion, we gave them plenty of time to climb back down on their own, which they refused. It was their choice that led to the Emergencies Act being invoked. The Emergencies Act has a 30 day shelf life, after which it returns to the commons to be decided on again.

In contrast, this weekend in Quebec City, truckers descended on the town for a weekend of protest and proceeded to park in an area designated by the police to park. This has largely gone off without a hitch with truckers expected to leave tonight.

Well said!

a normal household knife can be used to kill some one or be used to save some ones life, it depends on whoes hand it is in and for what perpose, people see the same thing differently and so act differently. who is right and who is wrong depends on whoes side you are on and what the circumstances are for the action.

Who needs a knife? 1 finger is that is required to kill someone, or you could use a baseball bat, cricket bat, flame thrower, gun, a sauce pan lid (especially the glass ones), frying pan, a cup, electrocution, nicotine poisoning (leave 20 fags soaking in water over night and you've got enough nicotine to kill someone and its undetectable after 1 day, and if they smoke...even better still), a nail file....I could go on lol

you are opening the door for people to choose from, I do have a sauce pan but it is metal (staianless steel) and a small flame thrower for cooking food (lovely thoughts) I hope that you have not been testing the above articles out. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I read this in the morning news.
(In Ottawa City Council’s first meeting since the dispersal of Freedom Convoy, officials voted to move Valentine’s Day to March 14 . The constant honking that had permeated the city on the actual Valentine’s Day was apparently too unromantic and a replacement date was needed.)
I thought, Thank god we are keeping our politicians busy.
Amazing what these people get paid for.

your politicians are so romatically minded they must find a way to show that they are on the job all hours.

The comment was directed to the Businesses that could not attract customers to their establiments due to the ongoing Trucker Convoy Protesters.

some businesses could also gain from this, it would depend on the need and if the city counsel is willing to help romanticaly there should be a happy ending for all, :):)

I think we should facilitate their departure to Ukraine, where they can honk their horns until the cows come home.
Yea, show them what loss of freedom really looks like.

it is a good idea, the trucks can be loaded with people who want to emigrate from Ukraine to Canada.

What a shame, that some people are applauding the act of a would be dictator.

Although I do not fully support the convoy, maybe it has awakened Canadians to what this person is capable of doing. He should have met with them. It sounds like people are getting their news from CBC. They are getting closer to being fully owned and payed for (taxpayer’s money) courtesy of the Liberals. Correction, they are owned.

So block the rail lines, tsk……..

B.L.M. loot and burn tsk……..

Destroying and decapitating statues, …. tsk.

It’s cold lets burn down a few churches…..tsk.

WHERE WERE THE POLICE………..

"Would be dictator"....??
Seriously...??
That you could make such a claim in the face of what's going on with a real dictator boggles the mind.
For the record, and I can't believe I have to even say this, Trudeau was democratically elected in a free and fair election and functions always withing the laws of this country. Period.
Seriously, geez-a-loo...

what the eye does not see, the heart does not greive. politics is a game and all politicians are out to win by any means available, the meadia is no longer indipendant, it goes where it gains most for it's own purposes and they make you believe what they want.
and that may not be for the benefit of the country or it's people, like a fanatic who has a brain but does not use it as it is used by others.

Trudeau - w@nkstain. Look Trudeau has done nothing for the native American Indians that live in the areas surround tar sands, these same American Indians are suffering from all sorts of illnesses including cancer. The water is polluted and can't be reversed at this present moment in time.

This is laughable.
All you need do is look at his record of corruption, lies, avoidance, do nothing unless it brings in votes. Bend to his will or you be gone girl.
The list is endless.
No point continuing, I have to watch my blood pressure.
Thank you for your response.

Hilarious. Corruption that exists primarily in the minds of the rabid right perhaps, but nowhere else. Sad really.

every one should have a right to state his or her opinion, but should not be forced to accept it. today the majority is ruled by the minority and what they say or do has to be accepted by all. freedom, democracy are words used by the few to get what they want, you are free to accept them, but do you ever ask why? no and if you do and protest what happens? no need to write the names you are called, but you are subdued by any means possible and told that we live in a free and democratic country.
when I think about it, children have more intelegence than some adults.

"Our whole educational system, from the elementary schools to the universities, is increasingly turning out people who have never heard enough conflicting arguments to develop the skills and discipline required to produce a coherent analysis, based on logic and evidence. The implications of having so many people so incapable of confronting opposing arguments with anything besides ad hominem responses reach far." - Thomas Sowell

The 2 footed morons protesting imaginary restrictions will be put in their place. And the pigs have been given their "new orders"

whenever there is a protest there are always provocaters there to use the legitimate protest for their own means, why burn cars and break windows? that is not a protest, that is distruction and every one has to pay for it, there should be a way way for all to find a suitable result to satisfy all.

I apologize for the length of this.

At the NATO meeting , " The German, Croat and Romanian representatives denounced trudeau for his anti-democratic actions and dictatorship actions taken and admiration of china’s dictatorship and requested that he not be allowed to speak at the NATO assembly, this in front of all the assembly.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was in Brussels this week and was absolutely roasted by European parliamentarians.

Croatian MEP Mislav Kolakusic called out the Canadian prime minister for engaging in a “dictatorship of the worst kind” over his treatment of peaceful Freedom Convoy protestors in February.

At least three other MEPs echoed Kolakusic’s remarks, with Romanian MEP Cristian Terheș entirely boycotting Trudeau’s speech.

You would think Trudeau’s rude welcome to Europe would be the top headline in Canada.

Think again.

Here’s how the legacy media covered Trudeau’s trip to Europe:

• A Canadian Press article titled “Trudeau’s address to European Parliament focuses on the rising threats to democracies” makes no mention of any of the MEPs who spoke out against Trudeau.

• Similarly, Global News devoted a segment to Trudeau’s remarks focusing on the prime minister’s words and not the reaction to his presence in Brussels.

• Meanwhile at the CBC, journalist Murray Brewster claimed that the prime minister received a “sustained ovation” from EU politicians despite the fact that the plenary where Trudeau spoke was largely empty.

And here’s how international media outlets covered Trudeau.

Can you spot the difference?

• Croatia’s daily newspaper Večernji list featured an article dedicated to Kolakusic’s remarks titled “Kolakusic condemns Trudeau before EU parliament: ‘Canada has become a dictatorship of the worst kind because of you’.”

• One of Australia’s most prominent broadcasters, Sky News, also devoted a segment to Trudeau’s thrashing at the EU.

• French journalist Gaspar Bazinet also wrote an article on the controversy for the outlet News 24.

I did a full analysis comparing Canada’s legacy media to the international media’s coverage of Trudeau’s trip to Brussels. Read it here.

Can you trust the legacy media in Canada?

If it wasn’t for independent media outlets, Canadians would have no idea what’s actually going on when it comes to how our government operates.

Unfortunately, this is the state of Canadian media – too many legacy media outlets are beholden to the government as a result of the millions of dollars in government handouts to the media.
