Byebye Imageshack free user

Well just got a bomb dropped in my mailbox by imageshack. They just uploaded a new website and along with it will probably be losing alot of users. No more uploading for free users. They completely threw the website upside down. On the new site after you click on the link in the mail & login you get a "30day free trial", after that it's "pay up or lose upload & get ads" and stuff. Probably not gonne be the only pissed of user.

Looks like i'll be dropping them and going to photobucket.

Thanks for keeping us informed on the developments.

Long time ago, Imageshack used to be my choice as free, unregistered user. They allowed hotlinking and were easy to use. But then they changed policy, requiring registration and putting limits, otherwise they displayed their frog. Instead of giving in, I moved on elsewhere.

As for Photobucket, it used to require registration, put limits to free users and was slow for me, so I left them too. But it also has the nasty habit of banning sites it doesn't like, e.g. warez boards like the old ProjectW, so there's always a chance it will ban this one. Better go somewhere else.

The currently best, free image host is imo Imgur. But you can also register, if you want.

Don't use imageshack..never have done, so no skin off of my nose....imgur and photobucket have always been the photohost.
