Firefighters battling a house fire in a Dorchester house Friday night made a rather unsual discovery, $1 million dollars worth of pot, according to police.
The fire broke out shortly after 11 pm at 10 Wyoming St., two firefighters where injured while fighting the blaze. After the fire was extinguished firefighters discovered drug paraphernalia inside the multi-family home and on further inspection firefighters discovered cannabis plants located within the residence.
After the discovery of the cannabis plants, police were summoned to the scene. The police quickly secured a warrant allowing for them to enter the premises and secure the plants. In total there were over 150 plants within the residence and arressted the residence. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but sources within the fire department have said that the fire was most likely caused by an electrical fault.
