I like "Swing Girls". 2004 Comedy Japanese movie.

This year I think it's "It Was Just An Accident". Super serious and dark but found moments to catch you off guard with the absurdity and comedy of the situation in really clever ways, and the performances were fantastic.

One of my favorite movies is Son of the White Mare by Marcell Jankovics, excellent animations and he has a lot of great psychedelic animations like it that everyone should see.

You see when you say international it would depend on where you are based....anything outside of the country you reside in would be considered international. It could also mean best film that has been shown around the world.
