Yes he was and he didn't get to do very many, so we missed watching his character grow, unlike Roger Moore and Sean Connery.

I liked spectre the most for the craig movies the villian was really good. Goldeneye for sure. but the best bond ever? i cant answer that ill have to watch some of the old ones and get back to you

Might be unpopular but I don't like Craig as Bond, he is too steely, so I would take the modern ones out of consideration. The consensus pick is probably Goldfinger. My personal favorites are From Russia with Love and On Her Majesty's. The thing is the Bond movies aren't that distinguishable so I feel like everyone's personal favorite amongst the golden age of Bond films is pretty valid and really a matter of taste and excitement for the plot. While there are plenty of wrong answers, there is no right one.

Can't look past Goldeneye! But it's obviously dated now. The Daniel Craig films are great as they show Bond's raw side.
