Ok so what's a roku 3? Well Im gonna explain it to ya.
When we bought our living room TV me and my live-in GF were on a budget - we set aside $400 for a TV and at wal-mart the best one we could get was a sanyo 42 inch flat screen - but that didn't come with internet apps like built-in netflix like some of you young whippersnappers have
And so a few months down the road we decided to get a Roku3 streaming box for $100 and it was well worth the money.
Not only does the roku 3 come with netflix but a bunch of other channels as well - it has an RF remote that you don't have to point at the TV for it to work- the remote has a headphone jack that mutes the TV when you plug into it and you can load all your MP3s into the roku box via a usb port with a flash drive or you can stream them to the box wirelessly from your PC - oh and the roku 3 remote acts just like Nintendo wii remote and it comes with Angry Birds Space so you can just wave the remote in the air to do stuff and play games.
But it gets better- when we bought the roku 3 we didn't know about PLEX - plex is a free program that allows you to stream any movies or music from your PC to the roku box - So if I want to watch a movie on the living room TV I just drop the movie in the Roku folder on my desktop, then I click the plex/web link in my browser- click the movies button and click "refresh" then it scans the movies folder and adds any new movies that are in it - and thats all - then I can go to living room and watch the movie. Oh and youtube videos are even easier - if I am watching a youtube video that I want to share with my GF on living room TV - I just click the PLEX-IT button in my bookmarks bar - and its instantly available on the living room TV- my GF just has to switch TV to HDMI 2 - click the plex icon and bingo- the youtube video is there waiting to be watched. Oh and music works the same way, can easily stream every mp3 I have right to the roku box.
So if you never heard of a Roku 3 - here is the link to check it out:
Its the best $99 I ever spent - and free shipping too
