So this isnt my first time on the high seas but it is the first time iv ever signed up for an account of any kind and so as someone concerned with my privacy i was just curious

how safe even is it to hae an account here if your say in the US? should i expect ISPs knocking at my door for just downloading stuff due to an account here or do i have nothing to really worry abut it doesnt seem like accounts would be anything but a risk to have issues, and why accounts regardless im curious as to the logic behind making it mandatory to make an account anyway considering download links are a thing this isnt me trying to be a smartass or complain i am geniunely curious

noted, what do you do to personally screen for malware in software besides a virus scanner? couldent there be zero days or more unique viruses hidden that it doesnt recongize?
