Banned names in Australia.

My son is called Marshal & that has been his name for 39 years, now it is banned.
In the state of Queensland they would prefer that you changed it, at least in a worst case scenario he could add an L to the end, I guess

Maybe he can take refuge with y'all if a zealous state customs official disregards that second L.

No names have been banned here yet but some registrars will refuse to register the name of the child for certain reasons but not because they say there should be two L's.

Iceland are strict on names...

Iceland is downright weird on the matter.

In the U.S., states have jurisdiction, so restrictions vary. Our courts are loathe to support prohibitions on Constitutional grounds.

My sister had a student in her Advanced Placement English class whose materialistic mother named her "Acura Money," but mandated it be pronounced Ah-CURE-ah Moe-NAY. Plus the mother is a demanding witch. Poor child!

Marshal is banned because it's a law enforcement title.
