I tend to get a fair bit of RARGB stuff, I've heard they steal it from other people and just slap their mark on it, or they are really bad re-encodes. Heard good stuff about QxR encodes as well as others. But its hit and miss and everyone has different opinions and in reality it only matters what our eyes can see as individuals.

I decided to compare a QxR encode of Harry Potter and the half blood prince with one of RARGB and there was literally next to no difference, Hence why i'd rather a 2.39gb file over a 5gb file. What are your guys thoughts on RARGB releases?, Does the quality vary considerably between different movies or do you believe them to be good quality.

From my perspective they're decent and sharp and i like the small filesize. If you say you don't recommend them could you please give examples of good encodes in comparison, Would be interested to see peoples thoughts.

TIA

I've not watched one of RARGBs encodes for a long time and I don't know QxR. The thing is with recodes and encodes is that at some point in time more than one group will end up using the same software to do it and therefore does indeed look the same, sound the same and probably even has the same size to it, depending on whether both groups used the same source or not.

I tend to do myself if I'm keeping any films. Just recently all I've been adding are films that I have a collection of.....I used to do it and post them in VIPs but I've stopped doing it for quite some time now. They are always EMS :D

I like the RARGB releases in x265.

Did they rip it or just re-encode it? I dont know and it really doesnt matter as long as it has the quality I like.

Warez has changed a lot in the past decade or so and as long as it is a good release, I will get it.

I must admit, if I see a RABGB release and in x265, I will usually steer toward this for my download.

Whoever told you RARbg is a bad encoder is simply an idiot and probably doesnt know even know hot to rip their own content. Any basic rarbg file that is x265 will be a nice size and 10 percent higher quality on average than any h264 rip out there. Most peoples yes cant tell the differerence in bit rates...i believe rars are prob around .04-.05. Most of my stuff i put around .07-.1....even though the color is supposedly better i cant tell the difference

Depends on what you play them on....and what screen you have and if you watch through your pc...how good your GPU is

I agree with twncam and Bushie_40 that RARBG x265 encodes are a decent balance of size/quality. Similarly for TV ep's, Megusta 1080p encodes strike a good balance and are a good standard to save drive space whilst retaining decent quality. For older movies, it's also a good idea to look for remaster versions as they have been restored.

well i have nvidia shields and play everything through plex...as for gpus if youre encoding andthing 10 series and up is fine..its just nicer having 3090 and 4090 as encoding takes 2 min
