one ALL the time and if they don't and are stopped without it, they are immediately carted off to a cell
should every one carry an electronic ID card? it has it's pro's and it has it's cons depending upon what your aims maybe? I carry one and it opens doors very easily saving time.

Except to vote in some states....go figure. Gotta show ID to fill a prescription, go to see the doctor or put your own cash into the bank. We are living in cartoon times it seems.
I believe the OP is asking if people should have a chip implanted on their person, sort of like the chips you put in your pets so that if they're lost, you can be identified as their owner. If that is indeed the question, I am against it in principle as it probably violates some right to privacy. However, in practice I see many advantages, such as automatically unlocking doors you are authorized to enter like your house and your car (it could also serve to allow you to start and drive your car). It could serve as your ID at the bank (just scan it at the teller) and to make purchases anywhere there is a scanner. You could have a scanner attached to your computer or an app on your phone to allow for online purchases, thus negating the need to keep that information on your computer or phone. It could also include your medical history in case of an emergency (only authorized medical personnel would be able to read it).
I'm sure there are other applications for such a chip, we'd just have to invent and use some form of security to keep crooks from reading your chip. Anyway, that's my take on what I think the OP is asking.
That's what I thought you were asking, they have those for CC's, passports and next will be your drivers license I understand, including the "travel" ID BS when you don't even need it, travel ID to travel within your own borders? Easier to travel and prove who you are with just a DL and passport when going in and out of the country.I was not thinking of a chip implant but a chip on an ID card that can be read by a card reader if needed, just like a passport has a chip, but an ID card that can be seen visually (face and details) and used in a card reader. If you were born in a country it proves it and also if you have been in prison.
What exactly DO YOU insert into your body, we'd all like to know.I have to put enough into my body already without having some kind of ID chip inserted into me lol

I rememberat one time in the UK, every one was against having an ID card, to prove who you were you had to have a letter adressed to yourself to show where you lived and any form that had to be filled in verified by a doctor or shop owner, but later I think that UK residents had to carry an ID card if they wanted to travel in the EU ?
You carry some form of ID with you almost all the time when you are out, usually this takes the form of a driving licence or bank cards etc What we need over here is everyone that isn't from the UK should be forced to carry ID and can be asked to produce it as and when required.
how long would it take for a non UK citizen to apply for an ID card? it is now taking over ten weeks to apply for a UK passport. also the UK must have a citizen of every country in the world living there. it would be easier for all if you could have an ID card to show that you were born there, if not the goverment would pay the fare of non residents to go to Africa.
We will soon be at civil war, with all these illegals and other immigrants and it only seems to be islamics, now don't get me wrong I know some muslims and they are not like these new ones....thinking its ok to groom girls for sex, they think its ok to push their sharia law into our own laws.....several incidents have occurred recently...Teacher threatened with death, cinemas pulling the plug on Lady of Heaven because a couple of handfuls of Islamics said it was wrong. So, I'm not sure people should come here to be honest. Its so messed up with illegals getting 4 star hotels, clothes on their backs, food in their bellies, mobile phones to groom children etc etc If our government didn't allow them free passage to the UK we wouldn't need bloody ID cards. but an ID card would also tell you if they were Scotish, Irish or Welsh, they are not English, but they all live under the same umbrella and have their differences, an ID card should not be used as a weapon but as a service to all that use them, also being male or female should be as it was shown on the birth certificate and would be shown as such on the ID card, if you want to be some thing else , that will be a personal choice and that would shown as a hospital entry if an operation was performed.Oh you'd know who is English and who isn't lol

An ID card should be used to prove who you are and that only, the problem starts when you do not like the nationality or the birthplace of the person shown, then it can be used as a weapon by anyone who has the power to use it. The days of every one knowing each other who lived in the street or surrounding area are gone, now people living in multy story buildings do not know their neighbours or speak to them, people are becoming afraid of themselves.
"I knew everyone down my road, then I moved and I still know the neighbours and most are on speaking terms too" and I suppose that every knew you too? (I hope that you did not break too many windows) an ID card was not needed then, but a NHS number was needed, which is a form of identification and needed at the labour exchange .
On the other hand we can go driving without anything, drivers licence, ID etc...and the police gives u 15 days to go to the police station and present those documents. (this as already happened to me because of my son, but that's another story).
The point is we can walk freely and if something happens, we got 15 days to solve it...
