There are many members in this forum, I have never met any of them, I do not know them, I can only judge them by what they write (if they do write?) there must be some thing in what I read that I like, otherwise why would I come here every day. You have read a book, you enjoyed it very much, you enjoyed what the author wrote, not what the author is. :)

I don’t read books much

Books are like music, some thing there for everyone to enjoy when needed, the first books that I enjoyed were geography books at school, what I read I wanted to see for myself, so I lived and traveled around the world for many years and enjoyed all of it, (even Canada) books are the main source of information on any known subject and can be found when needed.(maybe later? :))

I've lived and traveled the world also, never needed a book to do it LOL jk
Having information about what you want to do is always safer than having none at all. A few years ago there was no internet or Google, remember that children (were) first taught to read and write at school to help them survive, now they are taught to only exist. But I see that there are millions of books out there, some one must read them? I read books about the world we live on and I see that I have learnt very little about it, I wish I was young again.:):):):):)

I've not picked up a book since I was studying counselling and psychology, which has to be around 15 years now. I have I think the complete collection of Judge Dredd 2000AD and multiple digital books on a variety of subjects....deep muscle massage to psychology. I have read many many books since I could read and feel i've done enough reading for now. Especially when it was only last year I passed 2 exams on completely different things.

I still read at least one book about every two weeks, usually sci-fi, adventure or historical fiction (actual books, not e-books). I like my books to carry me away from reality and let me live a different life at least for a while. I just now (in the last 15 minutes) finished "The Collapsing Empire" by John Scalzi. He's an excellent sci-fi author. I've also read his 6 volume "Old Man's War" series which was also excellent. If you like hard core sci-fi, give him a look.

if you passed two exams, it means that you have learnt some thing and can be used now or later , the information is there for you in the brain instead of the library and can be used at any time and any place when needed, there ia a saying "veriety is the spice of life" and that covers many topics and age is no problem, only enjoy what you have learnt, even for a short period of time. books are very important for information on any known subject that can be seen from different angles by different people. it is like knowing what is in the pie before you eat it.

I'm a droid, with an above average IQ....I think I know what it means. Don't try to analyse or explain something simple to me. I passed one of them whilst going through withdeawals....just to add a bit more spice to it. Books are only important to those that have not yet learnt on how to use them for your benefit. For example counselling and psychology books are only theories, theories that can be included into their client counsellor relationship, if they so wish. They are a guide nothing more nothing less...how you choose to use what you have learnt or not is entirely upto the end user.

I am sorry, I think you may have misunderstood my post? I used it to give an example to others in general, that is if you pass examinations you have learnt some thing that can or should be beneficial to others as well as to yourself and can be done by information gained from one source or another, education is a continuation of life. I do not grade myself, as that is for others to do. I have what God gave me and use it to the best of my ability. (sorry did not mean to upset)
