Question for the games request section

Hello

I've been wondering recently if it would make sense to have a stickied thread with a few places to look for games in the games request section? I mean a lot of the request could be solved easily with a link to elamigos, fitgirl, dodi, other site, if people knew about them. Most often people don't know about these fairly easy to navigate sites.

Feel free to say this is a bad idea (or against some rules I've missed) or if it wouldn't work, the thought just crossed my mind and figured I would put it out there. And don't misunderstand I love the request section, it's my favourite thing about this board

Why would you want to try and take away sections from the request area just because why? There will be no stickied posts to any gaming sites in the request section. You will find stuff in the link collection section for that....I know what, why don't we just get rid of the request section and just leave a couple of links there to other sites. That's right, links to other sites damages our traffic too. You can't just do that for one of the request sections you would have to do it with all the others and why? Just because someone doesn't like looking for stuff for other people. Its not just a request section, it is also where people interact with others about a request. We have had a success request section for a long long time and I have no interest in giving it away......if you do it with one section why not do it with all of the sections, including films and tv, music, apps. In fact, why not just close the site because all our traffic goes to other sites?

Yeah, in a few words....No, not going to happen.

Completly fair, it wasn't meant as anything bad and merely a suggestion I had running through my head. Your arguments are completely valid and I understand them even though the way you typed your reply is a bit over the top as I was merely asking a question and felt no harm in doing so. I love the request section and was just thinking there might be something gained, but I can see that I was wrong. Again it wasn't a critisicm of this lovely site.

Afa I am concerned, your suggestion was politely expressed, but could have been better placed in Feedback in the Announcements section, which is unfortunately not visible from the FP.
Bear also in mind that suggestions about additional (sub)sections or even stickies, are rarely adopted, not only here but also at other boards.

That's ok....I'm very protective of the request section...its been my baby for a lot of years, I will always consider opinions but they need to be addressed to me not the GD. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who reads it they know, I am the one to approach with ideas etc not the whole universe

I am a droid and I do not consider the emotions of human beings....as they are selfish, self centred, rude, disrespectful, impatient, a general lack of understanding of the English language even though English is their first or only language, it wasn't a personal attack on you but your idea

I Can see The usefulness, though i would rather do a megathread in collect links of Sites to avoid.

Its better that people that don't have the Knowledge of what websites are safe to rather ask here. Too many people will find ocean of games, steamulocked IGGgames or skidrowreloaded and think they found a goldmine.....Little do they know the only mine they found is crypto miners.

Alot of requesters know about where to get the warez but much prefer one of us put in a more consumable form for them weather it rapidgator or a DDL in general. Yes Repackers Have DDL links but normally the only maintained ones are gdrive or onedrive and both require knowledge to avoid download quotes.

The TLDR is Why go elsewhere when DW is The onestop shop for everything (Except Hacking or NSFW)

Sharing links to other sites is all fine and dandy but to intentionally post links to other sites drawing members away from our site is definitely not the way to go.
