I’ve just come across this site, claiming to offer free and unlimited file sharing and storage:

No registration.
You can store and share data of all types (files, images, music, videos etc...).
There is no limit, you download at maximum speed.
Privacy and security promised.
Everything is free.
Code:
https://gofile.io/welcome
I haven’t tried it myself, so I cannot guarantee anything, but it came recommended by a respected member on another forum.

That sounds almost too good to be true. Makes me just a wee bit suspicious. Like the old saying says: "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch". Maybe I'm too suspicious, maybe I'm not. I'll reserve judgement but won't block it from being used. Seems like it would be an up-loader's dream come true. $54 a year for unlimited bandwidth and files kept forever. One thing missing is any DMCA policy.

I think the only downside is the *files are removed after 10 days of inactivity
*free account
$54 a year for unlimited bandwidth and files kept forever.

I played with it briefly, I liked you could upload at least a 4 Gige file (Largest one I tried) with no probs and fairly good speeds (Used IDM) BUT, as Navy said,
Like the old saying says: "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch" So cautiously interesting.

A reasonable suspicion we all share.
Fears might be mitigated by the following:
On disabling my ad-blocker, ads appeared.
Inactive files are only kept for 10 days, strongly motivating uploaders to buy premium.
Further features are promised for premium.

Let’s encourage members making use of this host to post their experiences here. If they are positive, the host might be a candidate for the friendly list.

On a side note, it is my contention that the Internet punches holes in the old adage:
"There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch."
In fact, there are many free lunches, if one knows how to get them. Examples:
This board
Freeware, including Open Source
Free info, advice and entertainment all over the web
My website on cats.

Hence my version of the adage:
"There are many free lunches on the Internet, what some people pay is the price of ignorance." (Katzenfreund)

There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch actually means that someone, somewhere has to pay for it. In the case of the forum, Tango pays for the forum and we each pay for our internet access to be here. Someone always pays - absolutely nothing is "free", except possibly the air we breathe, but someday, that too will bear the cost of purification.

Beware of FREE AIR!
