Microsoft releases Internet Explorer 11 developer preview for Windows 7

As promised, Internet Explorer 11 is making its way to Windows 7. Almost a month after we got our first serious taste of Microsoft's latest browser, currently available on Windows 8.1 only, the developer preview version for Win 7 has hit the web.

The biggest news is the improved performance and load times. Microsoft is quite proud of the enhancements it's made to Chakra, it's JavaScript engine, and claims it's significantly faster than Chrome, Firefox and Opera. As always, though, you can take these self-administered benchmarks with a grain of salt.

I use it very seldom. Only if a page won't load correctly in FF (Pale Moon) - of with I can only think of one. My preferred browser is Pale Moon (FF optimized for Windoze).

I've been using FF for years now, the only time i fire up IE is when the occasional website uses a script or function that doesn't work properly under firefox. Sad but true, those still exist.

Firefox for PC, Dolphin Browser lite for Jellybean 'droid phone.
The 'other-half' uses chrome.
We both hate Microsoft Internet Exploiter.

I prefer FireFox and Palemoon but at times I have to us IE for some of our gov sites.
It's crap but for some reason if you don't use IE you can't log in properly and read you Gov induced mail.

The problem is magook, that they are not external emails but internal mail sent to my account within the Governments welfare/child support/child benefits thingimijig.
They have made it so that if you want to have access to them quicker than the normal time frames you have to join their rigmarole.
I'd be happy to do all of it without using IE but as I said FireFox just won't log in cos the Aus Gov website is FRACKED!.
