Hero cat saves boy of four from vicious dog attack – chases animal off
A cat has been hailed a hero after rescuing a four-year-old boy from a dog attack.
The unnamed boy was riding his bicycle outside his home in Southwest Bakersfield, California, when a neighbour’s dog ran at him and grabbed his leg with its teeth.
Within seconds of the dog attacking, the family’s cat – a tabby called Tara – dashed into frame and chased the light brown pet off.
The little boy’s mother, Erica Triantafilo, was outside with her son at the time and managed to lift him to safety.
He was taken to a local hospital where he received ten stitches, according to news sources.
Mrs Triantafilo later said: ‘My cat defends my son during a vicious dog attack and runs the dog off before he can do additional damage. Thankfully, my son is fine!’
