What are the best file hosts at the moment? Personally I use Putlocker as it is good for free users to download from.

Best for uploaders or downloaders? :)

Here is a thread about filehosts
Code:
http://Dirtywarez.org/good-filehosting-t1549.html

Yea I could not find a topic about it in General but then found it after in the help section.

I would say both up and down, as it seems uploaders seem to favor filehosts that you need a premium account for to get a good download from.

i use uploaded......long time rapidshare user, but not as good as it was before

Whatever you choose, please avoid Rapidgator. It only gives 50 kbps to free downloaders, at best. And only max 3 downloads per day. And if a captcha expires it counts as a download. And apparently it can't be beaten by proxies.

Gamefront, bayfiles

Fast downloads from there as a free user and no stupid captchas and waiting time

Bitshare, also very fast downloads. Just downloaded an album in a few minutes, only you have to wait a minute for it

180upload, billion, bitshare(not too bad), upshared, putlocker, sockshare..all good returns of download speed for free users

What about file deletion? Anyone had a issue with that recently?

So far Putlocker leaves my files as they are.

Don't store any of the files so can't tell. Just upload for a fun and without too much trace

ah well file deletion....billion will delete free user uploads after 30 days if they aren't downloaded or something, its annoying to say the least. As usual, don't label the files of whatever they are. I've been ok with 180upload and for the better part upshared.

seems like all the old ones are dead now. used Rapidshare when I uploaded for Dirtywarez. Is it still popular? haven't used filehosting sites for downloads or uploads since a long time.

Rapidshare killed my account three times and deleted all files, so no way I'm gonna back to them

It's not true that Rapidshare has disappeared. It is to be found in every Internet Museum. :P

But the bottom line is that despite the Megaupload events, file hosts continue to operate and the job still gets done.

Rapidshare keeps on saying they will delete my account and files because I have not logged in and a year later nothing happens.

Does not bother me their service is useless.

Is upshared good for free users?

I've used Upshared and was very good regarding speed and restrictions. But I don't know about its file deletion policy.

The host is owned by lavda who's a fellow member here. If he reads this, he's invited to comment.

Upshared usually don't delete the files unless I have to also is very strict for dcma they have to fill up one application and send that to upshared in order to procede
