Does anyone still run a single core PC?

I see so much x86 software/OS's posted, I thought x86 was dead years ago, I haven't had a x86 machine for maybe 5 years.


Do you still have a x86 PC? I have 5 setup's Desktops/Laptops and all are 64 Bit.

Still x86, Windows XP Pro here, happy and proud of it with no desire to change. In fact I plan to keep XP even after maintenance stops next month, if malware and software availability allow. As for a new computer, my motto is: You only need a new computer if you need a new computer.

I run an Octocore 64 bit (8-core) so nope.

hmm let me see...1x8 core 64 & 32bit, 1x2 core 64 & 32bit, 3xdual core no HDD's So I guess I'm a yep/nope bloke lol Why are you under the impression that because someone is running x86 it must be a single core CPU?

All desktops and servers are W7x64 or WHSIIx64. The laptop is W7x86 because of a printer driver issue.

i don't run one atm but do have one lying arround that i think still works Single core pentium 4 3Ghz , 4GB SD-Ram, abit AS-8 mobo

Well there are so many x86 because there is no x64 alternative for software. As for OS then yea I do see your point

single core is for patient people.
