The main general question at the moment is whether it will be a free upgrade from 10, as 7 was to 10 at the time.
My preliminary opinion is that a product can reach a stage of development where it should be left alone, because any changes are more likely to make it worse than better, at least for many people. For me, such changes are the addition of bells and whistles or obscure functionality that just obfuscates it, like it happened with Vista succeeding XP.

Been running it for awhile, nothing really new other than a new UI.
Didn't have much time the other night, checking it out tonight.
I managed to install "Open Shell", and it seems to work, and brings back the classic control panel.
- Tried to install my Quick Launch toolbar but no luck. At least in this version the option does not exist.(I've been using the quick launch tool bar since winxp.)

That's great! No Open Shell would be a deal breaker for me. Especially with all the start menu and taskbar limitations 11 apparently brings (specially the removal of support for custom start menu folders and groups):

After reading your post I went and looked for more info on Open Shell and Windows 11. Apparently it mostly works fine but not perfectly, there are a few issues and bugs, but looks like the Open Shell devs are working on it and plan to release a version that's 100% compatible.
I haven't come across any issues with it yet, but 11 is installed on a rarely used laptop so my time on it has been limited.
I've seen a preliminary comparison using several benchmarks. Microsoft's claimed improved performance doesn't seem to be more than marginal.
At the same time, the new system seems to be a little more demanding on hardware requirements.
If the above are confirmed, I don't see the new system as a step forward, and my first comment above that they should leave W10 alone applies.
