tango i dont use any apks, i just have kodi installed with my iptv details which has its own movie list, and use a good addon with real-albrid and all-debrid, my favourite is homelander then The crew addon, the price of both my prem downloaders is £5 a month with a trakt account i can watch and keep track of everything
+1 for kodi and trakt. There is a trakt addon in Kodi that automatically marks your watched movies/shows to your account, allows you to rate the movie/episode at the end (can be disabled), and the best feature is that it can actually sync your progress across devices. If you start watching a show on your Android TV box, then use Kodi in another room in your house later on, as long as you have the addon signed in with sync enabled you will know which episode you left off on (it might even sync the exact timestamps, too). Once you have Kodi, I recommend the mobile app called Yatse (or Kore, Yatse is better imo) that allows you to use your phone or tablet as a remote for it. To make it work you have to go to settings -> services -> control -> then enable control via HTTP and allow remote control from applications on other systems
This is a great setup because you can seek/scroll from your couch, no fussing with a mouse and keyboard.
Also, there is a free IPTV someone here mentioned (their topic is deleted, so IDK what happened) which is legal so there are ads sometimes but you can keep it on standby if you are bored - you can load it by installing the Kodi addon called Playlist Loader. I will reply again if I remember another APK, I know there used to be one for streaming without a Kodi addon but I don't think it exists anymore. I think a new one is out there.
I remembered the name of the app, it was "ShowBox", I'm going to try to look into it but I doubt it exists anymore.
I did look into some alternatives tonight - starting with the one that worked, it is an app called "HDO Box". I tested this on a phone, but will try HDO Box on my FireTV this weekend just to see if it works. Once the apk was installed, I tested the most recent episode of a popular TV show - a message showed up that it downloaded the subtitles and the video started playing, but the only quality available was 1080p. I checked the menu and there were 2 sources, but both were 1080p. This might be great for you but my internet connection can't handle HD streaming.
edit: tested a few more movies / shows in HDO Box - the top-right menu brings up servers which is probably only showing the maximum resolution. Next to the menu in the top-right is the current resolution, and tapping on that might have other resolution options I don't know how easy it will be to change that on a set-top box with a remote.

The other apk I tried was called Syncler (a hassle to download, the installer doesn't have a resume option) and although it has a nice GUI and seems to have a ton of sources for each movie/show, I tried to play a recent episode of a popular show, an older episode of two popular shows, and a foreign film - NONE had a working source. There's supposedly a reddit page that has more content providers that you can load in but I gave up on it for now. If you want to try it, the info is also on that same link above.

I haven't used Kodi for a long time, I will check it out again it must have been streamlined a lot since I used it last.
