Sometimes you need points in order to archive certain goal...I am wondering how to do that esp on the forums in DW

If by "points" you mean your post count, then it's very easy - join in existing conversations (threads) or start your own using a subject you believe other people would be interested in joining. Easy.

I will try my best to your question.
If you are referring to forum status levels based on your post count it would be something like (I tried to work this out from under the members tab (four tab on the left corner of the site) against the post count.
Cabin Person --------------1 post
Deckhand------------------100 posts
Seaman 3rd class----------500 posts
Seaman 2nd class---------1000 posts
Seaman 1st class ---------2000 posts
Third Mate-----------------10000 posts
Second Mate-- ------------25000 posts
First Mate??---------------50000 posts
Captain------------------- 100000 posts
Man overboard LOL-----250000 posts
If you are referring to the different DW forum user positions and what each mean I recommend looking at this post
If you are referring to trophy points, I would recommend asking our great admin (NavyRet or EMS)

Forum like and status points are not as important as your post count when it comes to MOTM.
So make posts on the board and just stay active. You'll do just fine Edna.
